This story follows Iris, a thirteen year old witch, who goes on a quest to learn from many witches. Iris travels to Sleepy Forest, a haven for witches, in hopes of filling up her spell-book. The story follows her day to day encounters with all sorts of different witches, in hopes that Iris will become the greatest witch of all time.
The Journey of Iris the Witch is an adaptation from my October 2020 art challenge on Instagram. This is a current work in progress.
For my senior project, I addressed the problem of children ages 4-9 not understanding struggles in friendships. Through over 20 conducted interviews I came up with a solution. My solution was a children’s book company that addresses different problems in friendships. This company is called Rockel & Friends. For this project I wrote and fully illustrated a complete book called Aren’t We Friends? For this company I also created all branding elements as well as advertisements.
Aren’t We Friends? follows Rockel, a creature with grass fur and a rock on his back. Rockel’s best friend Beeshel, decides she no longer wants to be his friend. Rockel must learn how to overcome his feelings of loneliness and learn that it is normal that not all friendships last forever.
Aren’t We Friends? is a registered copyright work. This work is ready for publication.
